Andrea Alemany

Researcher

Andrea Alemany is a research scientist at the Fight AIDS and Infectious Diseases Foundation / Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital. Since the start of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, she has been conducting research related to COVID-19 treatment and diagnosis, and is currently part of the coordination team for the COnV-ert project.

She has always been interested in Neglected Tropical Diseases and Global Health. This interest led her to spend several months in Ecuador volunteering in Community Health-related strategies, and to do a clinical rotation in Tropical Medicine in Chocó, Colombia.

Andrea graduated from the University of Barcelona School of Medicine (2013) and and completed the residency in Family and Community Medicine (Barcelona, 2019). She is currently a PhD candidate by the University of Barcelona.
